First of the Month
The first of the month always has a deluge of movies being made available across the streaming platforms. It's because the beginning of the month is when licensing agreements tend to take effect. Licensing agreements can be interesting from a consumer perspective. For instance, the film Inception left Netflix back in the summer of 2020, only to return to the service again last month - less than a year later. Movies like Inception tend to not get special treatment when they release or are released to streaming platforms. These movies get thrown into a massive grouping of films at the beginning of each month where only the most popular titles get some marketing mention.
Digging through the first-of-the-month list this month was fun (and little overwhelming) because there are so many great films being made available. So without further ado, here are the best new streaming movies to watch this week and an extra long list of other movies now available to watch.
