Tomorrow: Charting the Path to a Successful Filmmaking Career
Chat With Trailblazing Filmmakers
The November cycle of the Cinestruct Debut program kicked off last week and we’ve been thrilled to have the opportunity to get the word out about the wonderful films and filmmakers that are being spotlighted as they kick off their film festival runs.
Tomorrow on November 21, we begin the next highlight event of the November Debut cycle - Virtual Community Events with the spotlight filmmakers!
THURSDAY - NOVEMBER 21, 2024
Our Virtual Community Event series kicks off with TEDRA, director of the forthcoming documentary series “DENIM.” TEDRA (Tedra Wilson), also known as TT The Artist, has an expansive body of work. Hailing from the Baltimore club scene, TEDRA has produced music that has been featured in notable series such as “Insecure” and “Rap Sh!t.” Her collaborators include Alicia Keys, for whom she directed the YouTube Original series “NOTED: Alicia Keys The Untold Stories.” She was a featured artist in “Uncharted,” a documentary and Official Selection at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival. Her own documentary feature, “Dark City Beneath The Beat” was an Official Selection at SXSW, previously distributed to Netflix, and is making its FAST premiere on TUBI.
For her Virtual Community Event, TEDRA will be discussing her upcoming documentary series, “DENIM,” and having a conversation about the importance of inclusive stories centered around LGBTQIA+ in Hollywood.
Be sure to tune in to TEDRA’s livestream event on Instagram (@tttheartist) at 3PM PST (6PM EST) on Thursday, November 21, 2024. You’ll also be able to uniquely keep the conversation going with TEDRA via the Cinevite mobile app. Use Lookup Code: QAPEY
FRIDAY - NOVEMBER 22, 2024
If you’re in the mood for something with more of a hair-raising tone, join our other Debut November Spotlight, Alessandro Pulisci, as he hosts an insightful discussion about DIY Filmmaking.
Alessandro is both a connoisseur and practitioner of indie horror. His past includes work with companies like Snowfort Pictures and Eli Roth’s Crypt TV. Alessandro will be pairing his discussion with the drop of the trailer for his latest short “Hi I Just Moved Here”, a chilling thriller that follows Kat, a new Hollywood Hills homeowner, who learns a terrifying secret about her new home.
Join Alessandro and actress Megan Rosati tomorrow, November 22, at 1PM PST (4PM EST). You’ll be able to chat directly with Alessandro and Megan on the Cinevite mobile app. Use Lookup Code: MA3OE
MONDAY - NOVEMBER 25, 2024
Over on the other side of the pond, our spotlight filmmaker Keshav Shree will be hosting a discussion on the immigrant experience and how that informed the story and message behind his latest short film, “Where are you really from?” The film is a darkly comedic examination of how accents inform how we move about our social interactions.
Keshav is not your typical filmmaker. He is trained as a medical doctor and practices while pursuing his acting and directing career. He recently kicked off his festival run for “Where are you really from?,” making the rounds at North American festivals including Oscar-qualifying Tasveer Film Festival in Seattle and HollyShorts in Los Angeles.
Join Keshav on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 10AM PST (1PM EST/6PM BST) to go behind the scenes with the crew behind “Where are you really from?” You’ll be able to chat directly with the team on the Cinevite mobile app. Use Lookup Code: YFMET
